The process of 'installing' an ICC color profile is nothing more than pasting (or drag and drop) into a specific folder in the operating system. Your printing software looks in that folder when it comes time to print. For display profile that you set in System Preferences, either use profile that is a result of actual calibration or display profile from the manufacturer. In case of a MBP laptop display this profile is called Color LCD. For editing profile, which you set in your raw developer use editing profile like ProPhoto RGB, sRGB, etc. Colour management. Choose correct ICC profile 1. Set Colour Mode to ‘Use ICC Profile’ 2. Set Printer Profile to ‘Auto’ for Canon papers or select the installed ICC profile from the list that matches your chosen paper. Choose preferred Rendering Intent. ‘Perceptual’ is recommended for best possible screen to print colour matching.
- In the Preview app on your Mac, open the image you want to adjust.
- Do one of the following:
- Apply a color profile to the image: Choose Tools > Assign Profile, select a color profile, then click OK.
- See what an image would appear on a different device: Choose View > Soft Proof with Profile, then select a color profile.
